"McMurphy's GmbH" is a visionary robotics company founded in 2026 and based in Füssen (Germany), surrounded by beautiful nature and stunning mountains.

We are not interested in offering standard solutions - Instead, we utilize everything that today's science can offer to create completely autonomous, innovative, AI-driven robotic systems for the tasks the world finally needs to solve!

With our highly talented team of mechanics and software engineers plus our 50+ production machines in house, we are able to build any technology imaginable, to bring humanity to the next level and shape the future of automation!

Autonomous Dishwasher

Handling Glass

End-to-End gets
deterministic

Our newest development is the autonomous dishwasher. Due to the chaotic principle of dish-piles, our robot's neural network is meticulously trained towards imitating human processes and fulfilling the necessary tasks to sort and wash the dishes in the gastronomy, including removing anomalies like napkins, straws, chewing gums, and many more!

With our special approach to recognizing transparent glass, our robots are able to grab glass just like any other opaque object, which is normally prevented by a sketchy depth information.

This is a milestone for handling dishes in the gastronomy, lenses in the optical industry, glasses, and many more items!

By using AI to controll robots, we are facing the challenge, that the paths and movements are not 100% predictable, which makes creating a sellable, certified product difficult.

We are developing a special software logic that forces a VLA-based robot to be as deterministic as a manually programmed classic industrial robot!

Revolutionary Animatronics

With our visionary mindset, we can't accept that industrial robots are developing faster than ever, while animatronics in theme parks are still the same old stiff robots as they have been in the past decades!

This is why we are developing next generation life-like, free-walking animatronics for theme parks with highly accurate biomechanics and interaction possibilities, to write the newest chapter of physical entertainment history!

Modern space exploration

As our co-founder Thomas Kern is a highly experienced and passionate aerospace engineer, we are putting our effort into creating the most modern robots for space exploration!

The most promising candidates for exraterrestrial life in the solar system are the ice moons Enceladus and Europa, which are covered by a thick layer of massive ice. To reach the fluid water deep inside, where there is a significant chance of existing life, we need to climb down the steep holes of the ice geysers.

For this exact task, we are developing a highly specified ice climbing robot, to help finally solve the mystery of extraterrestrial life!

Aerospace Engineer / Co-Founder

"My professional career has been characterized by the development of sophisticated, cutting-edge technology. My studies in aerospace engineering gave me the necessary foundation to subsequently develop valuable practical knowledge in prototype construction. With the support of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), I was able to realize the prototype of a small, lightweight lunar rover, from the initial concept to the drivable vehicle. Later, as part of the company Atmos Space Cargo, I successfully developed a highly complex technical system for returning payloads from orbit to Earth. In spring 2025, we successfully launched the system into space on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. I now feel ready to put all my experience into building "McMurphy's" and become part of the greatest technological revolution humanity will experience in the coming years!"

"My studies in mechanical engineering initially led me to a position as a designer in the industry, primarily for machine components and punching and bending tools. In doing so, my career path then crossed the robotics and automation industry, where I got to know amazing people and talents. I have a deep understanding about the newest and most promising AI robotic technologies, which are able to bring futuristic visions to life!

In my free time, I built up several Youtube-channels over the years, including Germany's biggest independent Formula 1 Youtube-channel, to over 150,000 subscribers in total and over 30 million views. Therefore I also know how to build a wide reach on social media, which is always a good bonus-skill as an entrepreneur."

"As I founded my first tech-company over 50 years ago in 1973, I have a deep knowledge of building businesses and how to make important decisions. My biggest strength is having the bird view of all processes in the company and knowing the path that leads to success, as well as maintain happy employees. With over 50 CNC-machines in my possession and my decades-long experience in mechanical production, we are able to bring every imaginable tech-vision to life!"

"My passion for robotics has led me to develop a wide range of intelligent robotic systems, from industrial robotic arms and autonomous mobile robots to humanoid robotics and AI-driven automation solutions. One of my proudest achievements has been leading the development of the world's first autonomous wine-serving robot from concept to a fully functional product, enabling customers to select their preferred wine while the robot automatically pours and serves it with precision. By combining robotics software, artificial intelligence, computer vision, simulation, and autonomous control, I enjoy transforming innovative ideas into reliable, real-world applications. Every project is an opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation and contribute to a future where intelligent robots improve industries and everyday life."

Jochen Grieser

Head of Software Development

"I have always been passionate about research and development. After graduating with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ulm, I pursued a PhD in Control Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

I began my career in the automotive industry, working for companies such as Adam Opel GmbH, where I developed control algorithms for gasoline particulate filters, and Continental Autonomous Mobility Germany GmbH (now Aumovio). During my time there, I contributed to projects including collision avoidance systems and parking scene interpretation, taking on roles as a software developer, Product Owner, and Technical Lead.

After more than ten years in the automotive industry, I decided to leave permanent employment and become a freelance software engineer to embrace new challenges and a broader variety of projects.

I am particularly passionate about automation and robotics, which is why I am excited to support the team at Mc Murphy's in their vision of developing autonomous robots that simplify everyday life."
